Aquatec Update - 15/01/26

Aquatec remains closed due to ongoing issues with the heating system not operating as expected. As a result, temperatures in the gym, changing areas, and reception remain below an acceptable level.

Specialist Health Classes supported by the NHS have been temporarily relocated, details are included at the bottom of this message.

We are continuing to investigate the cause of the problem and are monitoring temperatures closely, with the intention of reopening as soon as they rise to a satisfactory level.  For your information, under the HSE Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare guidance (L24), the minimum workplace temperature should be 16°C for normal work and 13°C for physically demanding tasks. 

As the heating system is failing it is likely that temperatures will continue to fall below these required levels during colder weather, creating an unsafe environment.  This not only impacts staff and user comfort and safety but also poses a risk of further damage to the building. 

We would like to apologise to all members for the ongoing inconvenience caused by this closure and can assure you that our team are working towards a solution as soon as possible.
